Add extra realism to your clay roses with the addition of this set of 3 calyx cutters. The calyx is the part of the plant that sits behind the flower head. Very useful if you are creating truly dimensional projects where you maybe want to wire your flowers to maybe stand in a vase. These cutters can also be used to create tiny flowers in their own right.
To use these cutters firstly roll out some clay in a colour of your choice, between 1mm and 2mm thick, on a glass mat dusted with cornflour. Press the cutter into the clay and then slide the cutter backwards and forwards to ensure a clean cut. Carefully remove the clay from the cutter and then using the FMM Firm Foam Former Pad and a Modelling Tool, further shape the clay calyx before leaving to dry. Once dry add the calyx to the back of your clay rose using a PVA type glue.
